Begin Your Sessions
You will be matched with the best counsellor or therapist in our team for you.

Your sessions will be weekly for as long as you and your counsellor/therapist decide that you need them for. Sometimes people book an initial block of 6 or 12 sessions. Other people prefer to not set an end date. The choice is yours.
Your sessions will take place at the same day and time every week either by video or in person.
Questions You Might Have
How much do sessions cost?
The cost of your sessions is dependant on your therapists experience. Some people require the expertise of a Senior Therapist and in this case this will be discussed during your initial appointment to ensure that you receive the best possible service. We are able to reduce the rates in certain circumstances as we believe that your financial situation should not be a barrier to quality counselling or therapy. We do not 'means test' this offer, it is an honesty based offer.
Please talk with Neelam in your initial appointment about this if you need to.

What can you help me with?
Our team can help you think through a whole range of issues. A lot of people want our help with:
Anxiety
Depression or low mood
Anger
Relationship Breakdown
Post Natal Depression/Anxiety
Their childhood
Past trauma (sexual, domestic, childhood)
Being in a healthy relationship with others
Developing a health relationship with themselves
What if I am not happy with the counsellor or therapist I am matched with?
If you are not happy with the counsellor or therapist you are matched with, in the first instance we encourage you to speak with them about it. The therapeutic process tends to bring up a lot of feelings and emotions, and sometimes this can mean that you feel negatively towards the person in the room with you.
Having said this, we appreciate that this is not always an easy thing to do, and so if you would prefer to deal with this in a different way, you can contact Neelam, or our Clinical Lead via email hello@trcic.co.uk to discuss.
If anything happens in a session that you feel you need to discuss with the leadership team immediately, please email hello@trcic.co.uk and mark the email as urgent.
Are your team registered and are you insured?
Our team are all registered with an approved registering body (generally the NCPS or BACP) and we are all insured to carry out the work we do.
What are the terms and conditions?
These will be shared with you in more detail in your initial appointment. An overview is detailed here:
-
For a session to be confirmed, payment must be made in advance. If you miss a confirmed session, you will need to pay for the session.
-
Your sessions are confidential - this means that information discussed is not shared outside of the organisation without your express permission.
-
Duty of Care - Trauma Recovery has a duty of care for all our clients. This means that if we are concerned about yours or someone else's safety or wellbeing we may need to speak with someone outside of the organisation. We have strict guidelines around this and where possible information will only be shared with your knowledge and permission.
-
If you attend a session and are unable to engage in the session for any reason, the session will be ended and you will be liable for the full cost of the session. This includes where you are under the influence of substances and unable to engage, where you attend a video session and are not in a safe space for the session to go ahead, where you bring someone else to the session without prior agreement with the therapist/counsellor.
-
If you arrive late to a session, the session will end at the booked time.
What if my circumstances change and this affects how much I can afford to pay?
If you are accessing reduced rate sessions and you are able to pay more for your sessions, we ask that you discuss this with your therapist or counsellor so that a new rate can be agreed. We are only able to offer a certain amount of reduced rate sessions and this is offered on a trust basis - we ask you to respect this.

If your circumstances change and you are unable to afford the full session rate, where possible we will reduce the rate.
*Please note that it is not always possible to offer this on a long term basis. We will endeavour to work with you to find a solution.
